Sherry's Personal Post Wedding Catastrophe
From experience, we can tell you the importance of wedding pictures and choosing the right photographer. Our story begins before we were wedding photographers and just has a passion for photography. Here is Sherry’s story:
|
In the big scheme of things, I felt that there were three most important factors in my wedding – besides having the groom of course – my dress, flowers, and photographer. Several years later, I have the dress and the flowers hanging on the wall, but the most important piece is missing – the pictures! After searching and interviewing several photographers, we selected one who was mid-range priced back in the day. She said she would accommodate our requests for black and white photos, medium format, and the not so traditional poses of the bride and groom (known today as photojournalism). Everything seemed to go well and we got our proof album 4 weeks after the wedding. The pictures were okay – every picture of me and my husband looked exactly the same with some slight variation of the pose, but nothing like we requested. After turning in our selection, I called our photographer several months later asking when I would receive my pictures. Well, months turned into years. Three years to be exact and only when threatened with a letter from an attorney did the pictures turn up on my front door step the next day by overnight mail. Not only were there no medium-format negatives that we paid for, there were negatives for pictures that weren’t in the proof album and pictures with no negatives. I immediately stored the pictures and negatives in archival sleeves within a book. |

Time past and I asked my husband to put together a photo album of our wedding. I was so excited to finally get the story and pictures of the beginning of our new life on paper. Well... the negatives were ruined! The years prior to us receiving those negatives must have done us in. I was totally heart broken. If I could do it all over again, I would have spent the extra money and got what I really wanted. If I had the digital negatives of today, we would have our pictures and the story of our beginning. |
This is an experience that no one should experience! We know, unfortunately first hand, the importance of a wedding album and choosing the right photographer. This experience has created a lasting memory on how customers should be treated and guides the way we run our studio and treat our customers.
